Blossom

Public art pitch and production
While this project may fall more on the art side of things, it involved more than just showing up and painting. The Ornament Trail project is in its second year and asked select artists to submit proposals for 4x4' ornaments that would be scattered around the downtown Milwaukee area to spruce up the space during the typical cold and relatively colorless winter months.
Blossom is an extension of my Natural Remedy series and the first sculpture to join the group. As the rest of the series, it was inspired by the natural environment of Milwaukee and the foliage that calls this area home, with an extra dose of holiday cheer this time around. The ornament was created over a few weeks by yours truly and can currently be found where Wisconsin turns into Prospect, just outside the Northwestern Mutual building, across the street from the Betty Brinn Children's Museum.

Below are the original digital mockup, as well as a small sketch I did to more accurately portray the plan and the final mockup for final approval.
Lastly we have the pitch I submitted for the project. This included a write-up of the proposal, mockup images shown above and examples of previous work in public art and the series. All design, photography, art, project ideas and writing from yours truly.
